First-person shooter Crysis returns powered by CryEngine 3 and is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as the PC.
Release Date: Mar 22, 2011
The original Crysis set a benchmark in graphical achievement back in 2007. Many are hoping for something along the same lines with Crysis 2, but there are a few things different this time around. Whereas the original Crysis was only for PC, Crysis 2 is being built simultaneously for multiple platforms using Crytek's CryEngine 3 technology. Another difference is that, for the first time, a Crytek game isn't set in a tropical environment. Instead, it's a ruined version of New York City. So what happened between the first and second games?
Fiction author Richard Morgan (Altered Carbon, The Steel Remains) has been working on the story of Crysis 2. We had a chance to ask a few questions via email to find out what's going on with the shooter sequel and how to write for video games.
